We support long-term charities and associations that perform charitable work in our society.

Over the years we support a number of NGOS who serve to support cancer patients and their families (PASYKAF, Anticancer Association), childhood heart disease, leukemia as well as the rehabilitation of elderly people (Melathron Rehabilitation Center).

As the main sponsor of the organization KENTHEA (Center for Information and Treatment of Addicted Persons) we support their primary goal for the prevention, treatment and education of the population about drugs and other addictions.

For almost 20 years, ExxonMobil Cyprus' "Safety Award" program reflects the awareness of the company's employees and partners on safety issues at work. For every 12 consecutive weeks without any security incident, the company offers €1250 to charities proposed by our employees.

Esso Safe Vision Initiative

Esso has always embraced society and focused on the importance of prevention in road safety. The new innovative initiative “Good Vision – Safe Driving” aims to raise awareness and inform the public about the importance of good vision, which is directly linked to road safety.

This action is mainly aimed at drivers, urging them to regularly check their vision, correct any issues in a timely manner and drive more safely.

Drivers will have the opportunity to benefit from free Vision Tests by licensed opticians, through the mobile optometry unit that has been specifically designed for the needs of the initiative. The program is under the auspices of the Cyprus Police (Traffic Department), in collaboration with the Cyprus Opticians Council and A. Potamitis Medicare Ltd.

The free vision tests will be held on Saturday mornings from 09.00 to 12.30 at selected Esso service stations, as per below schedule*:

Free Child Seats

Our effort is to encourage parents of newborns to promote the safety of their children and develop road culture and behaviors from this early stage. Once a month the company selects randomly a winning date and all babies born in Cyprus on that specific day, are eligible to a free car child seat. The seat conforms to the highest safety standards and specifications. From the launch of the program in 2006, more than 4,975 free car child seats have been offered to children throughout Cyprus.

We invest in education

Through the Sci-Tech Challenge program organized at a European level with Junior Achievement Europe, we want to inspire students to follow Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics “STEM” courses at tertiary level and to understand the wide variety of careers they can pursue through “STEM” education while utilizing their talents.

We continue to find ways to invest in the scientists and entrepreneurs of the future through our collaboration with the at European University Cyprus. Microsoft Innovation Center

In addition, we sponsor the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) award for the best postgraduate student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

We support elementary and high schools in the area where we our Head Offices are based.

We promote a healthy lifestyle by supporting local youth sports academies.

Environment

We care about the environment and actively help communities become greener where we can. In 2022 we financed part of Larnaka municipality’s Aliki Salt Lake walk path.
